Technique Classes

Climbing 101 is the perfect first step into the world of indoor rock climbing. This class introduces new climbers to the basics of bouldering while emphasizing essential risk management practices to promote a confident start to your climbing journey.

Whether you’re brand new to climbing or just need a refresher on the fundamentals, this class will prepare you for a successful climbing journey.

Class Outline:

  • Boulder wall orientation

  • Understanding tags and tag circuits

  • Introduction to chalk and climbing shoes

BlocBasics 1 is a foundational class focused on developing climbing movement and technique through the lens of bouldering. The goal is to help climbers build strong habits from the ground up, setting the stage for long-term progress.

Through targeted drills and exercises, we’ll work on improving efficiency, body positioning, and footwork—all while expanding your climbing vocabulary.

This class is suitable for all experience levels who have a basic understanding of indoor climbing gym rules and etiquette, or for those who have completed our Climbing 101 class.

BlocBasics 2 builds on the foundational skills from BlocBasics 1, focusing on reinforcing good climbing habits while introducing new movement styles and techniques. This class is designed to help climbers become more well-rounded by exploring both static and dynamic climbing, and laying the groundwork for intermediate-level movement.

Ideal for climbers who are already comfortable with basic climbing concepts OR best taken after completing BlocBasics 1: Intro to Basic Movement, Technique, and Vocabulary.

  • Static and dynamic climbing

  • Drills for dynamic movement

  • Drills for static control

BlocBasics 3 invites climbers to refine their goals, sharpen focus, and approach climbing with a more intentional mindset. This advanced class builds on prior skills with deeper exploration of climbing styles, movement efficiency, and mental strategies for projecting harder climbs.

Designed for climbers with an intermediate understanding of body positioning and technique, BlocBasics 3 is best taken after completing BlocBasics 2: Intermediate Technique and Dynamic vs. Static Climbing.
